Made in the English Lake District, the Summiteer Togo 40 litre is a tough, fully-featured mountaineering pack, adaptable for multi or single day use thanks to a removable waist belt, hood and backplate.

The ultimate winter climbing pack, the Togo is designed to be as comfortable as possible when fully loaded. Dual-density shoulder straps, utilising a new longer-lasting internal foam cushioning and load lifters, take the pressure from the front of the shoulders and direct it into the body of the pack and ultimately into the hip belt. These design features mean the Togo provides a more anatomically friendly carry on long hikes or crag approaches. This versatile harness system really does allow the user to pile in the weight when required.

The beauty of this rucksack is its modular construction. Simply strip back the waist-belt, hood and back-plate to transform the pack into a semi-lightweight, super durable day pack. Peace of mind is also ensured, through the durable DWR Treated CORDURA outer fabric and triple-stitched seams, which make this ultra-comfortable pack equally bombproof.

The clever use of 5mm DMM accessory cord in the top of the pack's drawcord synch closure, means that, in an emergency, it can be stripped out and used as a prusik. Compression straps on the side of the pack double as securing straps for ice axes in conjunction with a slot for the head of the axe in the centre. These compression straps are also great for holding your rope securely when wrapped over the pack.

The Summiteer Togo 40L truly is the ultimate mountaineering and climbing pack!

    Ideal Rucsac for Geological Filedwork

Haven't put it to work yet, but needed a tough rucsac for geological fieldwork, carrying rock samples and the likes around. Not many modern rucsacs can handle this for long, but this looks like it will be very able, very tough fabrics used throughout.
A geology hammer holster sits perfectly on the hipbelt if you also use the shoulder strap to keep it in position.
The health and safety people in my industry will be very pleased by the bright orange colour , it makes all their uncomfortable clothes un-necessary, you could spot this thing from the moon.
Very much looking forward to putting this to use in the field, and I think it will last a decade no matter hopw much abuse I give it.
Have already tried it for training purposes by walking around with it loaded with large bottles of mineral water. The load sits fine, the shoulder straps are very comfortable and the hip-belt takes the load very well.
Very much looking forward to using this thing when the snow melts on the central Asian and Canadian-Pacific mountains where I hope to be working soon.

    brilliant bag

Got this direct from Summiteer (no reason I didn't use rock and run used them loads before). its become my bag of choose for just about all my outdoor activities (I do have an old style crag rocket that I will use for summer trad days if were ever allowed out to play again!). there is a couple of things id change if I have opportunity with a bigger top pocket (I carry more junk than average due to being in a rescue team) and starting to think I'm going to cut chest strap off as im quite broad across chest and don't need it but there very minor niggles! well put together and tested with the right level of make do with what you have (photos of Ethan carrying his daughter about in it and putting her to work after school)!hope it lasts a long time and im happy it will.
