The Mammut Smarter is an add-on to the the Mammut Smart 2.0 belay device that reduces beginner and children's errors when belaying.
The Smarter is attached to the Smart 2.0 and in the event of a fall, it locks the rope even if the brake ropes is incorrectly held above the belay device. The Smarter only kicks in during these circumstances and apart from the little additional weight, there are no other negative effects on belaying with the Smart 2.0
There is also and integrated loop incase you wish to take off the Smarter and attach to your harness.
