The La Sportiva TX4 GTX is perfect for those wet weather approaches due to the waterproof Goretex membrane found in this version. This leather approach shoe part of the Traverse X approach series; designed for technical approach, via ferrata and light hiking. Lightweight, comfortable and with a look derived from the climbing range, the TX4 GTX is the ideal choice for mountaineers and mountain enthusiasts.
The TX4 GTX is a sturdy built to last shoe, thanks to the STB Control System, which provides structure and torsion stability. The hard wearing leather uppers have a clean design and are highly abrasion resistance due to the PU TechLite all-around rand. Finally a Vibram MegaGrip sole, with climbing zone at the toe and Impact Brake System at the rear, is designed for everything from rocky scrambles and easy climbs to muddy approaches.
Perfect for prolonged use by mountain guides and all those who work in the crags and mountains. Every detail has been covered, to guarantee grip, comfort and protection during approach routes.

Very nice approach shoe, although it is too early to comment on durability, they are very well made with nice materials. Very comfortable, large toe-box, fairly soft mid-sole, so I am not sure if they will end up losing shape in the sole under my not inconsiderable mass. La Sportiva design this as an approach shoe, hence the lighter construction in the sole. They also do a model designed more for hill walking with more solid construction, I should probably go for that one next...
My second Pair of Sportiva approach shoes, but this time the Gortex ones.. these shoes I love! In equal measures they feel extremely comfortable but offer great support... the look good and last well.. the soft rubber sole wears down and visually I was panicking they would not last.. but they have.. a great shoe....
Excellent three season approach shoe. Light and well made with a sturdy rand around the edge. Goretex lining was essential for me for mountain approaches in Wales and Lake District. Having tried the Scarpa Mojito, Arcteryx Konseal and Solomon range, this shoe is truest to street shoe size of them all. Lightest and nimble, it has the best heel on the sole for descending in mud and a good climbing zone on the front, as well as hook for clipping to back off harness. Perfect for routes on places like Gimmer and Cloggy. Four stars because of price and that half sizes only available as European import.
