The Five Ten Niad Lace Up is the renamed classic Anasazi Pink. Immensely popular, all-round precision climbing shoe, ideal for slabby to vertical climbing indoors and out.
After a number of years out of the limelight (not to mention grit light, granite light and rhyolite!), this old favourite has been refashioned and re-tweaked for the next generation. The Niad Lace Up is the ultimate in precision rock climbing shoes, and is particularly suited to slabby to vertical (and just beyond) terrain, where sensitivity, support and feel are paramount.
The heel has been completely overhauled and bears little similarity to any of its predecessors; being both far closer fitting, with less dead space, and much more sensitive throughout. The shape of the toe box is something of a cross between the old Anasazi Pink and White - a little less bunched than the White, yet not as flat and pointy as the original Pink. The rigidity appears to be a close match to the original Pink shoe and the ubiquitous synthetic Cowdura upper will be instantly recognisable, from both a visual and tactile view point, to all long-term Anasazi users.
Overall a great climbing shoe, ideal for performance sport and trad climbing.
Sizing: Thankfully the sizing seems pretty similar to the other popular Niad/Anasazi's (VC, White Lace-up, Verde). If anything it may be ever so slightly smaller.

First new rock shoe in many years and I love them! They seem to strike the balance between being a good snug fit but too painful to wear until broken in and relative comfort out of the box. I have used them on sport routes, multi pitch mountain routes, abseiling into sea cliffs and even the climbing wall! Once they do break in and soften up a bit they will be superb.
Once I got the right size (1 full size larger than the old ones) these boots are really good. The new heel pushes your toes into the outside edge without them needing to be overly tight.
Ethically sourced Polish goose and duck down, combined with lightweight technical fabrics for exceptional warmth, weight and durability.
