The Five Ten Dragon Lace is a highly aggressive, high-performance climbing shoe, for hard bouldering and sport climbing both indoors and out.
Redesigned and with a whole new look, the Five Ten Dragon Lace still stakes a solid claim as the "ultimate bouldering shoe" as it retains the same shaped last from the previous version. It now offers up some new features and improvements with a synthetic upper that features a laser-cut reinforcement and a midsole with tapering rigidity giving more support at the toe graduating to a softer density toward the heel. The heel itself has seen a full redesign and now has an improved fit with less dead-space. This gives a better balance of support and sensitivity as well as allowing the shoe to better contour the arch of the foot for a closer fit. Extreme asymmetry combined with a thin layer of 3.5 mm Stealth® HF™ rubber gives expert precision, a high level of torque (in use) and unrivalled traction.
The HF™ (high-friction) rubber compound has been specially developed for overhanging and steep climbs, where you are unable to exert as much downforce on a hold - this rubber grips harder with less effort required by you to make it stick. With a synthetic leather upper and microfibre lining the shoes feel comfortable straight out of the box and mean the Dragon will have the absolute minimum amount of stretch over its lifespan.
There is more rubber over the toe than on the previous model, offering enhanced toe/foot hooking. Finally, a new offset lacing system provides a more ergonomic fit and also allows for an extended toe rand, further improving toe hooking and giving more contact friction on the top of the shoe. This laced version will also give you a more tailored fit over the Velcro option, ideal for those with very wide or narrow feet.
The sizing is around a half to a full UK size smaller than that of the previous version, so upsizing accordingly is recommended. For a performance fit purchase your street shoe size or half a size up if you want some degree of comfort.

Seems like a really well made shoe so far. Great for toeing in through steepness. I sized down 1/2 a size from my street shoe as I have narrow feet. This gives a nice tight fit for bouldering. I think the last is quite wide compared to a number of scarpa shoes that **** under the arch of the foot more.
