Haul Bags

Haul bags are an essential piece of aid climbing gear as they are used to store the equipment needed for the route. Aid climbing routes usually require a lot of gear and quite often its too heavy for the climber to carry. So the gear is typically stored in a bag and hauled up the side of the mountain, or big wall, once the climbers are at the belay, in order to save carrying it up when climbing. Haul bags are made from tough materials to prevent snagging or ripping on the rock, and tend to have no dangling straps that can get caught on the way up.
