Solidly built with a hot forged carbon steel head and straight shaft, the Grivel Munro SA+ has a number of new features to make this non-technical ice axe an even better partner for winter mountain walkers. The long leash has a built-in point protector and the classically inclined pick has teeth along half of its length to give greater security on steeper ground. Other new features include a new drop forged pick with an integrated handle which helps improve carrying comfort and prevents damage to your gloves. From cutting steps to arresting a slip, the Munro SA will quickly become your faithful companion on fells and corries.
Great walking axe, 55cm is perfect for me I stand at 6ft incase any one is looking for their first axe this is the place to start. Recommend removing the leash but that’s personal preference really... not too heavy but mine has already had a beating and seen some use in the Cairngorms throughout February. Decent price too!
Bought to replace an older model - same good quality construction, nice grip and comes with leash and spike cover. Slightly curved shaft.
