The Scarpa Mescalito Mid GTX is a versatile and lightweight hiking boot for more demanding approaches and Via Ferrata.
Featuring a Vibram Dynamis sole unit that uses Lite Base technology, the Scarpa Mescalito Mid GTX boot offers a significant reduction in the overall weight. There is also a bi-density EVA midsole for cushioning and a TPU shank for torsional support on rough terrain, with a Vibram Megagrip outsole for maximum adhesion on rock.
The upper of the Mescalito Mid GTX is constructed from thermo-embossed suede, backed up with a waterproof, durable Gore-Tex membrane. A lateral PU rand shields the upper from scuffs and scrapes, and a rubber toe cap offers grip as well as protection. The lace to toe design combined with the stretch tongue ensure the best possible fit.

"I've had these for a few months so can now give an accurate opinion. I have trouble with getting the right fit with a dodgy heel, but these seem to fit perfectly. They are so grippy, even on wet rock and the mid length gives me confidence for my glass ankles. I feel these will last a long time due to the superb rubber sole." - James.

These are the second pair of these i have had. Very pleased with quality & comfort. Went straight in to doing 12 or 13 mile walks last week and were comfortable with no issues. Last ones lasted 3 to 4 years so happy with that.
I bought these, my second pair, as they were heavily discounted. I was able to do so from R&R as I knew the boots and what size I needed. These boots would be better if they could be resoled. The soles on my first pair will probably last another year (so two in total) before they become ‘summer/dry’ boots only. I’m a fan of Scarpa. I got my first pair in 1983. The quality is high although how comfortable they are after many hours is not always sure (probably the fault of my feet?).
These boots have been amazing so far in the wet, cold and windy Brecon Beacons. So far these boots have been on snow, rock, bog, mountain moorlands and through a number of small streams. No blisters and very comfortable so far. Would recommend 🙏🥾☀️❄️💨🗻
Great boots. Nice and comfy and light. Agonised about whether to go for my shoe size or bigger and in the end went for a size up based on the low/medium volume rating. I was initially concerned about the liner pressing down on the top of my big toe, but not a problem. I can wear these all day.
I'm lucky; I've got narrow feet, and they fit very well. If I had proper wide feet, maybe not so. I have a pair of the Mescalito GTX shoes as well, and for whatever reason, the boot/mid model has laces that run easily, whereas the shoes need a pair of pliers to escape from (lace holes too small - hello Scarpa, anyone listening?). So I'm very glad I bought these. Comfortable and dry to walk in, grippy on rough stuff.
