The Scarpa Vapour Lace is a versatile, comfort orientated performance climbing shoe, designed for all styles of climbing.

With a slightly asymmetrical, slightly downturned shape and a medium-to-low angled toe box, the Scarpa Vapour Lace offers a balance of great smearing with refined toe power. The Lace is a stiffer, more supportive version of the popular velcro version and is also slightly narrower with a lower volume design than its strap counterpart.

Designed to stand on very small holds, the Vapours are moderately stiff and excel on steep face climbs and edges. Uppers are constructed using a combination of suede and Lorica® that is specifically mapped throughout to create stretch but retain structural integrity in areas of high stress and flexion. The Vapour features Vibram® XS Edge rubber, which melds excellent grip with good durability and edge hold. Size them large for a comfortable yet technical trad shoe, or size down for performance in sport climbing and bouldering.

As with all the modern performance Scarpa's, the Vapour provides reliably similar sizing - i.e. if you are a 42 in the Vapour V, Instinct Lace/Slipper, Boostic etc. you should be a 42 in the Vapour Lace.

    Great quality shoe

I had tried these shoes out for a couple of hours on a climbing wall and loved them. When I ordered a pair the same size as I'd tried out, I initially found them far too tight. However I've read that shoes with leather uppers will stretch up to a size, and after leaving them for a week to acclimatise, they did start to stretch and mould to the shape of my feet. I've worn them on the wall a few times now and I'm starting to love them.

    Bad size guide-good shoe

The shoe itself is good although I was Not able to test it properly as it was far too small despite having followed the size guide carefully. Deceptive size guide.

    Small shoes

The shoe size was too small despite having followed the sizing guide. I had to return one pair and the second larger pair also was too tight. On the limit. International al returns are not possible only redi ts. Which means you have to pay for shipment 2 times of you need to hange side. It ends up becoming hugely expensive. Most uk websites that sell outdoor equipment don’t charge on delivery for returns. This was disappointing.

    Comfort and Performance

The shoes perform well all round. They also offer good comfort on longer routes. Here's an in depth video review I made https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgwi_zjVM1U

    Great all round shoes!

Best shoes I've had in long time. Good for bouldering, leading, trad. I use them for everything and they work great! Couldn't be happier. When you buy this shoes, just keep in mind that they are made of Lorica, so they don't stretch, so they should feel good from the very beginning.
