The Cumulus Panyam 600 is a lightweight winter down sleeping bag designed for lightweight end uses.

Not exceeding the magic 1kg barrier whilst offering incredible warmth to weight ratio, the Panyam 600 is ideal for those looking for a single bag for year-round technical use within the UK. Constructed using cutting edge design techniques, sustainable sourced 850 cuin Polish goose down and ultra-light Pertex Quantum fabric (weighing in at only 29 g/m2) the bag comes in at just 980g.

The trapezoid chambers, a shark-fin foot box and updated ergonomic design of the hood provide unique comfort. Additionally, draw cords and tapes have been added to the hood to combine with an independent, elasticated collar with velcro fastening to make for maximum adjustment.

Advice on Temperature Ratings

Temperature ratings are used to indicate a bags performance and help you decide between models. However, they are subjective and can be greatly affected by factors such as what you're happy to wear (clothing wise) in conjunction with the bag, your health and metabolism, how much you have had to eat or drink, humidity and altitude, the type of shelter used and whether you are using a suitable insulating mat.

As a guide, the "Comfort" rating indicates the range at which a woman gets a comfortable night’s sleep, the "Limit of Comfort" rating indicates the range at which a man gets a comfortable night’s sleep and the "Extreme" rating indicates a range at which a woman is protected from hypothermia. The Extreme rating is basically a survival rating and it is not advisable to rely on this for general use.

Now my favourite down sleeping bag.

Have a few down sleeping bags but wanted to get another nearer the -10 range. Never heard of Cumulus before but after watching videos and reviews decided to give this bag a go. The loft in this is incredible and even though this was packed for a week in its stuff sack before actually getting it out on a recent trip, it lofted pretty much straight away. Really warm and comfy and you can feel the down on the bottom loft between your legs, which I have not noticed before on other down bags we own (not as expensive but not far off and good down sleeping bags). I have a couple of exped mummy style mats and I really like the way the zip goes very low to the bottom of the bag. I unzipped it all the way a couple of times, hooked the bag over the bottom of the mat and used it as a quilt. The collar is really warm, the hood doesn’t seem to have as much down as some of my other bags but not been cold enough to tell if this really makes any difference yet. I tend to wear a hat when sleeping anyway. There is a small storage pouch with a zip on the inside, round about chest level off to one side. The first few times I used the bag this felt a bit weird being where it was when getting in the bag, mainly because if the zip. To be honest though never noticed while sleeping. I really like the trapezoid design of the baffles which I think helps in the loft and mean there are no gaps between the baffles you get on some bags. You can often see this by holding the bag up to the light and you can see gaps where the baffles are sewn together and there is no down. Overall this is now my main bag and really pleased with. For a little known company in the UK, I can say their products are extremely good quality and in my opinion worth the cost.

Excellent products, and brilliant customer service. I needed to exchange for another sleeping bag, and no questions were asked.
