Petzl Vasak LeverLock Universal Crampon

I’ve been procrastinating for several years, whether to bother with a pair of C2’s. Finally decided to purchase these in early December, so that I could reserve my Lynx’s for more techy climbing, and have a crampon more winter walk/scramble orientated days. It’s been a long month waiting for conditions worthwhile enough to use these crampons. Inadvertently packed the C2’s this weekend in the Highlands. No fear, handled well on territory above grade lll. Obviously have their limitations, but then, that’s why mono points were developed. Good bit of kit

The crampons initial outing was in Chamonix. They were easy to fit and were solid on my boots and performed as week as hoped. The only downside to the purchase is unlike other Petzl crampons they do NOT come with a bag. So you need to budget an extra amount to cover that if you don’t already have one to put them in.

So far I’ve used this for grade III winterclimbing and walking, it’s ideal for both, very easy to pack down, with a simple microadjustment system. You don’t need any other crampon!

Easy and sturdy to use.
