The DMM Belay Master 2 is a mid-sized HMS belay carabiner that works well with the vast majority of belay devices.
Continuing to set standards for the safety and design of belay carabiners, thr Belay Master 2 is an excellent choice for those new to climbing. A patented integral plastic clip increases the overall safety of the belay system. The clip can only be locked into place when the screwgate barrel is tightened into the locked position, providing a failsafe check that the biner is closed securely. The plastic clip also stops the carabiner from rotating in the belay system and being cross-loaded.
The mammut helmet skywalker 2 was bought as a gift from my brother in law, as soon as he told me what he wanted it was ordered, 3 days later the helmet arrived, upon opening and trying it on he was impressed. This thing is heavier than usual and a lot more expensive for a small plastic thing added. But then as you use it it keeps both belay ring and rope where it should be prevebts cross load and unlocked carabiner as well. Well worth the extra money and weight. We mostly use this now for belay.
Nice piece of kit, but a major downside is that it isn't compatible with the Petzl shunt -- the width of the 'back' of the biner is too wide for the shunt. The old version was compatible.
Bought this as a replacement for my original a fantastic piece of kit.
My belay master is just what I was looking for no more worry about about side loading thanks to its design. Delivery was very quick so I am massively happy with the service :) only criticism I have is in my conformation email I was told I'd get an email when dispatched and I didn't get this email so was wondering when my item would arrive!!
