14 reviews   |

The DMM Pitcher Rope Bag is a neat, simple, lightweight, tough and easy to use rucksack style climbing rope bag, perfect for trad outings.

The Pitcher has a wedge design making it much wider at the top, allowing for easier stashing of your climbing rope. The integrated tarp is stitched all the way around the opening, making using and packing your rope away a quick and easy undertaking.

Shoulder straps enable you to carry the pitcher like a rucksack and can also be removed to create a stuff sack, allowing versatile use as a route sack on multi-pitches, or a stuff sack for gear organisation.

  • Use as a climbing rope bag, a rope bucket, a carry on route sack, or nipping to the wall.
  • Easy stash tarp system for quick rope packing.
  • Large enough for an 80m+ single rope or a pair of 60m half's.
  • Removable shoulder straps for either carrying as a rucksack or using as a stuff sac in your cragging pack.

  • Capacity: Large enough for an 80m+ single rope or a pair of 60m half ropes

DMM pitcher bag

This bag has revolutionised my climbing, particularly on sea cliffs and hanging stances. No more over the neck coiling and flaking out the ropes at the bottom! It takes a pair of 60m ropes no problem. It has colour co-ordinated loops to tie top and bottom ends of ropes to so you know straight away which is the lead end! Couldn’t rate highly enough! It’s very lightweight so you barely notice it’s there when seconding routes with it to feed ropes back in at the top.

DMM Pitcher Rope Bag

Had this a few weeks now and starting to wonder why I didnt use one earlier. Makes a hanging belay so much easier. Seems strong and about the right size for two 8.5 50m twins.

Not fully tested yet, but...

As a sports route rope-bag it's not as good as a standard design, being rather lumpy with the bag under the tarp. I bought it because it will be useful when rapelling multi-pitch routes using double ropes. Rapping slabby routes without a bag you are forever stopping to sort out the ropes which have only managed to drop down a few metres. In strong wind, too, it is better to rap with your ropes in a bag.

Good bag for the wall.

Good design for managing the rope. If using outdoors would benefit from a small zip pocket for keys/phone etc. If carrying any distance the straps are a little to thin for comfort.
