DMM Revolver Wiregate

3 reviews   |

The DMM Revolver Wiregate is a unique wiregate climbing carabiner, designed to reduce friction on the rope.

Featuring a uniquely designed pulley wheel that reduces friction and allows the rope to run efficiently through the carabiner, the Revolver is great when climbing wandering routes and also for use in an improvised hauling system.

Abandoning convention, DMM have thrown away the rule book and approached the friction issue from a completely new angle by introducing this concept of a rolling component in the safety chain. When placed where the route rapidly changes direction this reduces rope drag significantly.

  • Large rolling rope radius 5.5 rad (11mm diameter).
  • Roller action and size dramatically extends rope life.
  • Extremely strong and light Hot Forged I beam construction for optimal strength to weight ratio.
  • Innovative lightweight rescue hauling and rigging applications.
  • Keylock nose to eliminate snagging
  • Wiregate for maximum weight saving

    I climb a lot on

I climb a lot on quarried granite, and these are invaluable for minimising rope drag when repeatedly changing direction. Once you have some, you end up finding all sorts of uses for them that you didn't anticipate beforehand, such as the first clip on a long sport route for ease of rope pull on lead. They are also a little metal work of art.

Clever design, lightweight and really useful.

These karabiners are really useful. They look heavy but are surprisingly lightweight and the difference between these and normal wiregates is not a problem. They are ideal for use on the rope end of long quickdraws to reduce rope drag when your placemen

makes you feel lighter than air

I've been using these since they came out they are very very good at reducing the drag on the rope, it sounds like you wouldnt notice it on a usual route but on their first outing I used two on a 20M pitch that I knew well, it did make a large difference

Trekking poles are some of the lightest available, engineered using the world's best alloy for pole sections!
