The Five Ten Camp Four approach shoe has seen a complete overhaul in this second generation incarnation. A lighter less cumbersome svelte heel replaces its clunky PU predecessor, increased tread depth makes for massively improved traction on soft ground, whilst a reduction in seams from heel to toe greatly improves weather resistance and overall durability. A lower volume tongue with debris guard is also a welcome improvement along with the slick yet robust speed-lacing system, which makes for more efficient adjustment and easier on-off.

Sizing

The sizing is reasonably comparable to the last version of the Camp Four, however the fit, particularly at the forefoot, has been tweaked: the shoe now feels a little broader and squared off around the toe box.

Five Ten Guide Tennie Approach Shoe

Very clunky with limited feel for climbing. Not in the same league as the originals . They have ruined them for the Climber !!

Well built and a good

Well built and a good balance between comfort and technical features. The last is stiffer than most approach shoes but Five Ten rubber is still the best.

The new guide tennies are

The new guide tennies are stiffer then the old version and the new speed laces make getting a precise fit much harder. This combined to give a lot of heel lift out of the box. With the insertion of a pair of insoles from some old ski boots they now fit like a glove. The're great for mooching about in and stick like glue flat peddles
