Shoe Conversion Size Chart

The Five Ten Verdon is an extremely interesting climbing shoe, which combines facets of a number of other Five Ten rock climbing shoe models with a last currently exclusive to this boot.

On the face of it the Verdon has the look and feel of a Dragon combined with an Anasazi, yet peer a little deeper and you'll see there's much more going on. Perhaps the most striking feature of this model is the stiff thermoplastic and EVA midsole aloft around 6mm of Stealth C4, providing, for the first time since the demise of the Galileo and White, Five Ten a shoe with true edging performance. The toe box is wide with plenty of volume in the forefoot, asymmetrically tapering to quite a pointy front end- presumably designed with limestone solution pockets in mind. The leather upper in conjunction with a perforated foam tongue allows for good breathability in the heat, whilst a generous entrance point makes for easy on-off. The Verdon is lined with Clarino, a synthetic micro fibre, used to help hold the shape of the shoe over its lifespan. Finally, the heel is similar in shape to that of the Dragon, yet with a little more volume throughout.

In summary, due to a unique last shape this climbing shoe may not fit all users, however those who do get to 'go to the ball' will be provided with precision edging performance, which is particularly effective on vertical to steeper terrain.

5/10 Verdon

Excellent postage time, like with all 5/10 products a bit tight on the sizing, had to go half a size down from street shoe size. Initially got the wrong size, posted it back asking for a size up and rockrun obliged extremely fast, very pleased with it :) the shoe is great for edging, comfortable out of the box, not so good at smearing.

Edgy and stiff

Not broken them in yet but the edge and shape of them tell me that they should be good for limestone climbing. I can't see them as a good all round shoe however, as smearing would be difficult with a stiff sole. Lets see how they are after they are worn in.

Decent pair of stiff and precise rock shoes

Not properly broken them in yet but can already tell they're superb. Stiff and precise, they have good edging performance and slight downturn for those steep limestone pockets. Only four stars as I've yet to see how they'll cope in the long term.

Excellent shoes

I bought a half size down as I’m not pushing the boundaries and these have given just enough.
