Grivel Steel Blade Shovel

Sorry, this product is out of stock. We can notify you when this product is available:

The Grivel Steel Blade Shovel is a super-light snow shovel designed to cover the needs of rescue and snow digging.

The snow shovel has been reinvented, ready to use and panic proof, is multi-functional and can be used with an ice axe to extend the shaft in alpine environments or on expeditions. It works well in areas with limited space such as at the bottom of a hole or the inside of a cave. With the front blade made from stainless steel, the Grivel Steel Blade Shovel is ideal for hard snow, cutting the sharpest edges.

For convenience, the Steel Blade shovel requires no assembly and easily attaches to the outside of a rucksack for emergency use.

Small, light and multi-functional, this shovel should be basic equipment for ski tours and glacier climbs. Its bright colour makes it easy to find should you lose your grip on it.

      Is what it is

Very well made, as always with Grivel superb materials. Design wise it has limitations, but for a shovel of this weight and size its excellent - basically an superb compromise between a full size shovel and one of those side handled rubbish ones.. The metal blade is very handy. Ive only used it on soft snow but it seemed great. What I will say is if you go into the snowy hills you need a shovel - Im from Colorado and am always stunned when I am in Scotland and no one has a shovel. Very very dangerous. This is so cheap, buy two and get your partner to carry one because if you are in an avalanche they can dig you out. If they don't have a shovel its unlikely they can dig you out with their hands...
