Hot Ice - Ice Climbing in Eastern Switzerland

*Apologies for the prices of these guides, the recent Euro/Swiss Franc exchange rates have made it extremely hard to keep the prices of many northern European guides inline with the usual British guide rates.

The one volume Hot Ice - Eiskletterführer (Ice Climbing) for Switzerland is now split into two bands - East & West. Each book in itself, covering individually over 400 pages, is far larger than the original volume. In German, but with clear maps, diagrams etc.

Both the new guides give a modern concise layout, utilizing both photo-topo and (pretty techy) crag diagrams, whilst the whole guide is interspersed with plenty of good action images. In the band East the following areas are thoroughly covered:

great bivi bag for all weather

I originally bought this to be used to keep condensation off my down bag in the winter, but have now used it wild camping/bivvying without a tent as it keeps you dry whatever! Although it is not very spacious, it is perfectly big enough to let a down bag

Best drawstring bivvy bag

This bag is superb, very breathable and closes up well. The weight and cut are spot on, perfect for a 4 season down bag but might struggle with larger models. Packs up small and entirely waterproof.
