The La Sportiva G5 is an extremely versatile mountaineering boot for alpine or winter climbing.

The mountaineering boots consist of an abrasion-resistant Cordura gaiter with a membrane and zip that will prevent your feet from getting wet. The inner boot is made up of 4 layers and consists of water-resistant Cordura, insulating and non-slip felt, polyethylene insulation and breathable mesh fabric. Thus, the boot is waterproof, breathable and provides warmth and comfort. As an alpine climbing boot, the G5 is completely crampon compatible and can be used for ice climbing as well. In addition, the quick lacing BOA system will provide a secure fit and is easy to adjust. A hook and loop closure on the shaft adds to an overall feeling of stability. The TPU midsole and PU Antishock midsole ensure comfort when walking and provide plenty of cushioning. The 3mm honeycomb insole serves to insulate the shoe.

Finally, the Vibram Matterhorn outsole will master snow and rock beautifully and provide optimal traction on technical terrain. The boot also features the Impact Brake System, which serves to improve the breaking power on descents.

La sportiva G5s

Great boots, quite light the boa system makes adjustment really easy and comfortable. The soles are quite alot lighter than my Nepal's and seem less grippy on rock in comparison. That said they are warmer and alot fo m comfortable.

Very great

The ankle is easier to bend than other shoes. It also has heat retention and is light. The ankle is easier to bend than other shoes. It also has heat retention and is light. The ankle is easier to bend than other shoes. It also has heat retention and is light.

Super lightweight and comfortable

Very impressed in how quickly these were delivered! They are very lightweight and comfortable. A little practice is required to get the zip to run smooth on the gaiter. Used for two long distance hikes to break in, and were totally fine, no rubs. The Boa system allows a very good fitting, and is quick to adjust on the fly. I did some edging, and felt very confident with the grip and feedback. Good range of movement, you wouldn’t know you were in a B3. Recently used in Scotland, however it was thawing. Great for the walk in/out/climb, but they did not stay dry in those conditions, and anything deeper than the gaitor is going inside. They do however remain very warm, and dried overnight. Also care required kicking steps, as the toes are not well protected! I think they would be 5* in better conditions, ie bomber neve, water ice
