The La Sportiva Kataki is a performance, downturned, lace up climbing shoe, designed to provide sensitivity on steep edging and precise footwork.
Evolved from the longstanding and popular Katana Lace, the base last of the La Sportiva Kataki has been refined to include some of the La Sportiva Otaki's technological developments. The outcome is a sensitive hybrid climbing shoe which is very adaptable to both foot shape and terrain.
This versatile lace-up performs similarly to the Otaki, but features a lace closure system for that custom fit. Made for steep edging and precise footwork, the Kataki excels at toeing-in on micro-edges while the innovative S-Heel™ construction keeps heel hooks feeling secure.

Very Happy with the Katakis, coming from a pair of Katana Velcros in a 6.5 UK I bought these half a size larger, I am street shoe 7.5 so didn't downsize much. I could have probably gone down to a 6.5 uk to crimp my feet a bit more but they are broken in and don't feel baggy anywhere. They feel far more comfortable than the Katanas thanks to the cushioned tongue and they fit my feet very well, especially in the heel and you can feel the sole ******* right into the arch of your foot. They are a little more narrow than the Katanas so I do feel a bit of pain in my forefoot after a while. I mainly climb indoors and they edge very well so really like them when route climbing, the only negative is that they are fairly stiff so smearing while bouldering is not perfect although they are still fairly new, i have ordered some Skwamas to boulder in, I will continue to use these for top roping.
