The Metolius Grip Glove is a tough, dexterous form fitting belay and rappel glove, also suitable for via ferrata. It features a supple goatskin main body with split cowhide palm reinforcement and breathable, stretch-nylon backing.

Metolius Grip Glove

I bought these primarily for rope use within our MR team. Although they have not been used (as yet) the first thing I would comment on is the sizing, Medium is more like a Small and Large is more like a Medium. So the sizing is an issue here. Also they look and feel a bit cheap! I would have bought the Petzl equivalent which we currently use but these are out of stock. In hindsight I would have considered work gloves from the likes of De Walt or Stanley.

The Motolius grip glove is

The Motolius grip glove is the first glove that iv bought that actually seems to recognise the importance of reinforcing on hard wear areas. The split leather palm reinforcing is very tough and is well situated with extensions down the index finger and around the base of the thumb, ideally suited to rope handling and abseiling. As a rope access tech i have been looking for a glove able to withstand the rigours of constant rope use and wear. so far so good and they have outlasted many of the alternatives that iv tried
