The Mountain Hardwear HyperLamina Spark 32°F/0ºC Long is a high performing, light and warm synthetic sleeping bag, designed to eliminate cold spots.

Utilising thermally mapped insulation and a half-length centre zip, the HyperLamina Spark 32°F/0ºC maximises efficiency and general insulation properties. One of the highest performance light and warm synthetic bags on the market, the innovative Lamina™ construction welds the Thermal.Q® insulation to the shell and lining, eliminating the cold spots caused by traditional stitching. By mapping different insulation weights throughout the top of the bag MHW are able to concentrate warmth where you need it most – around your core and feet. Thermal efficiency is further optimised by a performance mummy-cut and face gasket.

What is Lamina Technology?
Maximising and maintaining loft is the true measure of synthetic sleeping bag design. Over time, all synthetic bags gradually lose loft due to stuff sack compression and general wear and tear. Designing a synthetic sleeping bag that would retain loft – and warmth – over the long haul became Mountain Hardwear's engineering challenge, and their welded Lamina construction was born.

Why Weld?
Welding stabilises fill without sewing through the bag and pinching the insulation, thereby maximising warmth and loft. Offset welds on the top and bottom of the bag increase fill stability.

Used once so far

My daughter has used this sleeping bag only once so far,, it did keep her warm throughout what was a pretty cold night.

Different but good

It takes a while to get used to this bag if you're coming from one with a side and/or full-length zip. The zip here is central and (just about) half-length. Which means a different technique for getting in and out, and a lot more effort to use a ***-bottle successfully in the middle of the night! All that said, this is a super warm, comfortable lightweight bag, and I thoroughly recommend the long size for the extra wriggle room. It compresses down really small - although the compression stuffsack is *extremely* tight to pack the bag into. It comes with a second much larger mesh bag for storage when not in use, which is useful.

Cool bag!

After a week canoe camping in Scotland with temperatures not that cold I did find this bag very warm and woke up cold even on a Exped9 down mat. I would say 0 deg c is an optimistic rating even wearing base layers.
