The Scarpa Stix climbing shoe returns in this updated format; incorporating a re-tuned last and construction to attract newcomers to the Scarpa fold, yet it retains a similar enough fit to enthuse former fans. A down-turned, crimped toe box and lightweight form fitting upper and heel cup identify this model as a natural born performance climbing shoe, which is particularly at home on steeply angled terrain.
Whilst the forefoot last is retained from the original version, the heel hosts a new lower volume design, with a higher cut rand, whilst the improved three-way stretch opening optimises fit and helps ease on-off. The toe box upper features an encompassing rand which is phased into the X-tension system to provide additional abrasion resistance and improved friction on toe hooks and scums. Finally, the XSV Grip sole unit delivers unbeatable friction on most surfaces and the use of an improved formula means the sole is pretty durable.
With excellent out-of-the-box comfort, an upper which holds its shape extremely well after prolonged use, and a last and fit which yearns for steep ground, the Stix slipper is worthy of serious consideration as your next performance bouldering or sport climbing shoe.
