SOTO Muka Stove

2 reviews   |

The SOTO Muka Stove is a gas stove that combines a reliable, powerful output with ease of care - with no priming required!

Revolutionising the common understanding that gasoline camping stove’s  get dirty with soot, have cumbersome preheating, and need maintenance before and after use, the SOTO Muka Stove is the next generation of the gas camping stove

Named after the Japanese word for Atomiser, the Muka uses a currently unique method of 'atomising' the fuel as opposed to evaporating it, like in many popular liquid fuel stoves. Most manual pressurising liquid fuel stoves (MSR Whisper Lite, MSR XGK, Optimus Nova etc.) push the fuel under low pressure, through a generating coil which then boils the fuel into vapour, and it is this vapour that ignites creating the burner flame. As the temperatures needed to vaporise the gasoline are low, the messy method of priming the stove has to be used to attain this boiling of the fuel.

The Muka stove differs from its counterparts, with its spraying of the fuel under high pressure into a specially designed burner, which directly atomises the fuel into millions of microscopic droplets to then be burned directly. Thus no priming is needed and the stove is quicker and simpler to use, and creates far less dirt and soot. Voila!

      The Muka stove by Soto

The Muka stove by Soto is a great petrol stove. The atomising of fuel at high pressure to bring it up to temperature without the need for priming works well. It is clean as a whistle after use and is seriously powerful. This will suit those keen to heat water for a quick cuppa as well as a whole group for a quick cuppa as well as cooking. High power is 10 out of 10 whereas low termerature simmering is not quite as articulate whilst being easily possible to fry onions or make pancakes. Pressuring takes many pumps and then requires further pumping after initial 10-15 seconds to reach pressure so it's fairly involving. I like it a lot. The control dial is excellent. Quality feel, easy to control, shut off and store. I am impressed and can see many years of easy use ahead. My wisperlight lasted a trouble free 16 years until I lost it and this feels better all round.

Bought one of these as a backup for my XGK which i run on extra refined paraffin so it burns more cleanly and with less fuel than petrol. Was so impressed with the Muka which burns so cleanly and with no smells and absolutely no soot or fuel smells when y
