The Edelrid Bulletproof is a hybrid climbing carabiner that combines the benefits of steel and aluminium.
Made from mostly of aluminium, with the exception of a steel reinforcement element, the Bulletproof is light, yet provides protection at the point that is most susceptible to abrasion, solving one of the greatest problems experienced by sports climbers: edge wear.
Available in both bent and straight gate versions, the Edelrid Bulletproof is the ultimate hardwearing biner that makes a brilliant sport climbing quickdraw.

I boughted this carabineer to use with the Edelrid OHM. As it's always clipped to the first bolt and gets pulled upwards a lot I've found standard carabineers get quite badly gouged over time. It's too early to say definitively but this doesn't appear to be a problem with the Bulletproof thanks to the steel insert.
I wouldn't rack a full set of quickdaws using this carabineer as the extra weight would add up. That said one or two might come in handy for red pointing where repeated falls on a single bolt is expected.
