Bosnia and Herzegovina Rock Climbing Guide

This is a comprehensive guidebook describing sport climbing in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country of diverse mountain landscapes, rocky canyons, forested hills, quiet villages, welcoming locals, and great food. In addition, it offers high-quality limestone crags in wild and romantic locations, making it one of the last secret and underrated climbing destinations in Europe.

The guidebook covers 45 separate crags and describes over 1,900 pitches. This includes 1,540 single-pitch sport routes, 123 multi-pitch routes, and 2 bouldering areas with 131 boulder problems. The climbing spans a wide range of grades, and all routes are shown on colour photo topos.

For each crag there is a location map, approach information, and GPS coordinates for both the parking areas and the crag itself. There is also a description of the character and style of climbing, along with a chart showing the grade spread and total number of routes. Symbols are used to indicate the orientation of the climbing area, altitude of the crag, approach time, maximum route length, quality of protection, steepness of the rock, and the best time of year to climb.

Published in 2024 (revised 2nd edition), this guidebook features Bosnian and English text throughout and includes around 1,000 additional routes and 13 new climbing areas compared to the previous edition. At the start of the guidebook there is extensive information on travel, transport, accommodation, food and drink, money matters, as well as health and safety tips.
