Ice Hooks

Ice hooks are reliable and versatile ice protection used when mountaineering or ice climbing. They are shaped like ice axe picks and usually come attached with a sewn tape loop.

Although originally designed for use on ice when ice climbing, ice hooks such as the DMM Bulldog and BD Spectre are probably of most use on mixed ground where they can be bashed into icy cracks like a piton, or placed in turf where nothing else will go.
