A long-time favourite in the Scarpa climbing shoe collection, the Vapour V remains a steadfast staple in the Balanced Performance series. Its winning combination of performance, comfort, versatility, and durability makes it a go-to choice for climbers of all levels, from indoor bouldering walls to the rugged granite cliffs of Patagonia.
Designed with Scarpa's FR last, the Vapour V has a slightly downturned and asymmetrical shape for optimal performance. The microfibre upper and padded air mesh tongue work seamlessly with adjustable Velcro straps to provide a comfortable and secure fit around the heel. The full-length Flexan midsole and Bi-Tension rand system work together to offer maximum support for the foot. And with the addition of Vibram XS Edge rubber, this shoe provides exceptional support and precise edging for all your climbing needs.
This iteration of the Vapor V sees a switch from the M70 toe rand - used in its yellow predecessor - to that of the harder, lower-stretch Ilga rubber rand seen in the Instinct series. This results in a shoe that holds its toe point, edging precision for longer and provides improved durability.
Often mistaken for a mid-range shoe, the modern Vapour’s complex multi-panel (7) construction, precise fit, premium feature set and worldwide fanbase attest to far more!
Features
As with all the modern performance Scarpa's, the Vapour V provides reliably similar sizing - i.e. if you are a 42 in the Vapour Lace, Instinct Lace/Slipper, Boostic etc. you should be a 42 in the Vapour V.

I have bunions and also wide feet. I wanted a new shoe which delivered some performance but still comfortable. Love these soes so far. i can where for 2 hour sessions and not in pain. 2 Velcro strips are good enough and easy to loosen and retighten between climbs. Had fantastic advice and help from the gentleman who served me at the the Milnthorpe shop.
Bought these for a trip away. wore them for a bit of bouldering to try to knock the edges off them but they are too big. I'm pretty rubbish at getting my size correct despite trying on plenty of shoes and sizes. Usually they are too tight but this time too big. They felt fine in the shop it was only outside that it became apparent. I usually wear lace ups , these were velcro. Think i'll have to buy lace ups or wait untiul manufactures make them again. Disappointed with myself. Don't know what to do with them.Maybe ok for a wall in winter.
