The DMM Pivot is a uniquely functional belay device that offers guide mode belaying options and is compatible with a wide range of climbing ropes.
Standing out from the crowd due to the unique pivoting anchor point connection, the DMM Pivot prevents rope jamming and facilitates smoother, easier lowering. It can be used to belay either one or two climbers when the device is used in guide mode on a fixed anchor point. Even with a weighty second, the belayer can lower both, or either second with total control using the specially shaped biner cavity. It is also great for abseiling back to the ground. Perfect for alpine, winter, and multi-pitch trad climbing.
"I’m on my second pivot now after hundreds of routes and kilometers of abseils on the original. The main reason I really like the Pivot is, the pivot. It is the only guide plate I've ever used that I can release the weight of my second with just my hand, not having to use a spare crab or piece of cord. Along with DMMs great build quality it’s just a great piece of kit that comes with me every time I head out." - Matt

Works really well. Easy to set up. And very easy to release in order to lower a climber.
The hole to insert the carabiner to use as a lever to lower is quite small. (I’m not sure whether this is the case with similar devices from other brands. ) So I had to use a smaller carabiner (off a QuickDraw) to fit through to give me the lever that I needed.
But I’m aware of that now.
Seeems well made and (obviously) works well in normal belay mode.
Feels nice and light to me too.
Would definitely recommend.
