The La Sportiva Miura VS Womens is an extremely precise, technical climbing shoe classic for sport climbing enthusiasts and revered slab climbing wizards.
Redesigned and reborn, the Miura VS facelift subtly refines the previous model and builds on the longstanding Miura legacy which has underpinned La Sportiva's rock shoe range for over 20 years. First created in 1997, the Miura continues to be a very popular climbing shoe to this day, which is saying a lot as very few climbing shoes are in production for this amount of time. This popularity stems from the shoe's tension and its edging capabilities, making for a technical shoe that is best suited for climbing on small edges and pockets, such as those found on limestone, granite and volcanic rock.
So what's new with the latest VS? This updated version comes with all the same fantastic tech and performance that made the Miura model such a classic in the first place, edging superbly and providing unrivalled precision on small footholds. As the name suggests, this is the velcro version of the Miura with 3 velcro straps ensuring a tight and secure fit - the straps on this latest version have received a cool aesthetic redesign. The tongue in the latest model is now made from 100% recycled materials and is softer and more breathable than ever before with the side heel rubber also being sourced from 100% recycled materials.
Based on a sticky 3.5mm sole of Vibram's XS Grip 2 rubber, the Miura VS is underpinned by a 1.1mm LaSpoFlex midsole in the front portion the shoe to maximise eding performance and support on small edges. Marginally downturned, the Miura VS comes built on La Sportiva's famous P3 platform which ensures it maintains a powerful profile throughout its life. On this latest version of the Miura VS, the heel cup has also been upgraded to optimise precision whilst hooking.
The Miura are an absolute classic in the La Sportiva Climbing Shoe range and are a great choice for intermediate and high level climbers, looking for a stiff, versatile technical climbing shoe.

My 4th pair - I love these shoes!
I've always bought them super-tight for hard sport, but they're so versatile I decided to get a pair in a half size bigger to use on easier/warmup, multipitch and trad. Just back from a trip and they were great - just that bit more comfortable but still such a good fit they haven't lost much in performance.
Note these really are a very different shoe from the 'men's' ie yellow version, which I've never got on with. Out of interest I tried a pair of these in the same size in the shop and couldn't even get them on my feet! As well as being a different shape they use a much stiffer rubber making them much less forgiving.
My only criticism is that the point of the toe wears through really quickly, meaning they have to be resoled far sooner than seems reasonable - this has happened on all my Miuras and Katanas as well, and seems to something to do with the sole profile at that point. Annoying, but I'm prepared to put up with it for such a great shoe in all other respects.
Let's hope La Sportiva recognise what a great product they have here and leave well alone.
These fit me perfectly, with some pain and stretch needed but great quality and fit. They are improving my confidence in trusting my feet on smaller holds when climbing at higher grades. They came so quickly as well.
