The La Sportiva Helios III is a door to trail running shoe designed for training and running on hard off-road terrain.
As at home on the trail as off it, the Helios III doesn't just look incredible but comes in as the ultimate all-round hard trail performer. With light and breathable uppers made from a unique, thermo adhesive combination of ripstop fabric, single sided mesh and reinforced TPU sandwich mesh, the Helios is an easy going runner. The fit is extremely comfortable and snug fitting, derived from the Helios SR model. The presence of the counter heel avoids crushing during the fitting phase while the soft and snug cuff with 3D Foam pads guarantees perfect comfort.
The tread uses the highly durable FriXion Blu compound - ideal for use on hard and rocky terrain. The thermo formed toe contributes to the general lightweight of the product and helps to protect it from knocks and abrasion. The injection molded EVA midsole with MorphoDynamic technology guarantees the high cushioning which has been typical of the Helios model since its market debut, while the Cushioning Platform insert increases its cushioning properties and overall comfort. Helios III: time to fly, again.

Overall good experience, did not take any wearing in at all. Used these for the Ben Nevis race last weekend. Good on the hard compact paths, but not so grippy on the loose rocks as there isn’t much to the lugs. Did not feel like there was much protection when running over the loose rocks. No pain in the knees after the run and no blisters what so ever. I went for a half size up.
