La Sportiva Ondra Comp

The La Sportiva Ondra Comp is a high performance bouldering shoe, designed and developed with the technical support of one of the world's best climbers, Adam Ondra. He says: "Ondra Comp is the answer, of La Sportiva and myself, to the modern trends of climbing."

This shoe is optimized to perform exceptionally well on smears, toe hooks and heel hooks - three of the most technical foot placements, common in the modern style of competition climbing. 

SMEARING - The Ondra Comp is designed as a smearing specialist, to help you stick to any angle of volume. Meticulously crafted, the structure of the shoe allows your foot to stretch out, increasing the surface area of rubber in contact with the foot-hold and improving grip. The Vibram XS Grip 2 half-sole is shortened in comparison to other La Sportiva models to allow greater flexibility in the midfoot. Within this half-sole lies La Sportiva's innovative SenseGrip Technology which helps the foothold to 'embed' with the shoe and ensure high adaptability on a wide range of footholds. The 1.1mm LaSpoFlex midsole is strategically placed at the very edge of the shoe, directly where your toes meet the foot-hold, to add a little extra support when tackling small edges without compromising smearing capability.

TOE HOOKS - Due to the increased flexibility in the midfoot, the Ondra Comp is also incredibly proficient at toe hooks. The huge sticky toe patch covers a large proportion of the shoe's suede upper and not only helps you to stay on the foothold, but also provides a little protection against sharp edges.

HEEL HOOKS - The Ondra Comp has a slim heel cup to optimise precision on technical heel hooks and the soft, malleable rubber is a perfect fit for heel hooking on everything from sloping edges and large volumes to small foot jibs and edges, giving you the security to really bear down and have full trust that you won't be slipping off part way through your rock-overs.
