The Trance somehow manages to deliver top-end performance without putting your feet through the usual crippling experience associated with aggressive climbing shoes, offering a rare combination of serious technical ability and genuine wearability for long sessions.
At its heart is a 1mm EVOWRAP tensioned rubber midsole and the Love Bump taken from the Shaman Pro, creating a powerful platform for driving through tiny edges, pockets and steep footholds, while still allowing the shoe to flex and respond when you need sensitivity.
The 3.5mm EVO 74 rubber outsole is softer and thinner than the original Evolv Shaman, adding a noticeable boost in sensitivity while retaining the edging power of the Evolv Shaman PRO. The result is a seriously effective hybrid: sticky and sensitive enough to smear and feel your way across technical footholds, yet powerful enough to stand confidently on microscopic edges. Add the 1.2mm EVO 74 toe patch and FLX rubber rand, and you’ve got all the tools you need for modern toe hooks, technical footwork and steep climbing.
The result is a shoe that can conquer virtually every aspect of intermediate-to-high-performance climbing.
