DMM K-Pro Rope Protector

Size: 50cm

The DMM K-Pro Rope Protector is a lightweight rope protector that is made to protect your rope on abseils when the rope is running over and edge. The K-Pro is ideal for outdoor and activity centre use thanks to it's colour coding.

The DMM K-Pro features an internal Aramid layer sits between two layers of heavy duty canvas, effectively protecting ropes from the type of sharp or abrasive edges commonly found at abseil and tope rope sites.

Tie-in cords allow quick and easy installation anywhere along a rope’s length. Available in two lengths.

Features

  • Triple layer construction for high levels of rope protection
  • Aramid mid layer gives high heat and abrasion resistance
  • Colour coded layers allows easy assessment of wear and tear
  • Reversible colours allow easy identification of separate lines
  • Tie in cords allow installation at any point along a rope’s length
  • Large connection eyes allows connection with either tie in cords or carabiners
  • Can be used in conjunction with ProPad+ rope mat to maximise protection

Specification

  • Colour: Reversible Design - Blue & Red
  • Length: 50cm or 80cm
  • Weight: 150g (50cm) / 226g (80cm)

Good stuff.

This protector is very stiff when new, its not flimsy. It protects your rope well, as it should. You may think it is rather expensive compared to others but, consider if saving a few quid against forking out for a new rope is worth it. My only gripe is the tie laces, they are a bit on the short side. The DMM info tells you to wrap the lace three times ( as i remember it ) round the rope making a constrictor to keep it in place on the rope. Once this is done there is very little left to tie a knot. This is only a small point but it comes back to bite you again when ( if like me ) you roll it up for transport. In the greater scheme of things this is a good product. Currently, mine is getting used 3-4 times a week as i getting in some much needed jumar practice in.
