Great bit of kit for the climbing wall

Took a bit of getting used to- there are tricks to using it smoothly but once mastered this is a superb bit of kit. In fact many grigri users at my wall have been surprised and impressed by it. Even works well with fat fluffy old gym ropes. Catches falls and holds rests effortlessly, lowers smoothly and pays out rope for lead with ease. Can't fault it. Using it with the steel Edelrid HMS crab- hefty but this kit will last a lifetime.

Used three times - awful

Bought this with the Edelrid recommended steel Carabiner. Not very smooth at all. Tried with 9mm and 10.5mm ropes. A little better with thinner ropes, but terrible compared to the traditional tube style belay devices.
