The Black Diamond Alpine Carbon Z are a pair of durable, 4 season trekking poles for ultralight mountain missions.

Black Diamond's most popular four-season poles, the Alpine Carbon Z have been improved by optimizing the joint support and stiffness for increased durability. The 100% carbon fibre shaft is complemented by a soft-touch grip top, natural cork grips and an EVA foam grip extension. The tech tips are interchangeable between carbide and rubber, while the inclusion of both 60mm Alpine Z-pole baskets and 100mm Compactor Powder baskets make these poles a perfect choice for all seasons.

Also offering Speed Cone Deployment for avalanche probing, simply grab the grip and the first shaft section, and pull them away from each other. The pole will snap into place and lock. Each Speed Cone guides a shaft section into place and stiffens the joint when the pole is locked.

How to Measure: On flat ground, the top of the trekking pole handle should be at waist or hip level and your elbow at approximately 90 degrees. For walking, hiking and backpacking: Stability and support matter most. Size up if you're right on a size cusp. For running: Uphill propulsion matters most. Size down if you're right on the size cusp.
