MSR MiniWorks & WaterWorks Ceramic Element

After 5 years, it was time again to replace the ceramic element on my old but reliable MSR system. This filter has consistently performed well, especially when it comes to removing particulates from water in the mountains. The build quality has held up through countless trips, and even after 10 years, the system is still going strong.

While there are definitely more advanced and efficient water purification systems on the market today, I can’t argue with the durability and reliability of this setup. It’s a bit slower than some newer options, but it gets the job done—and does it without fail.

I’m not sure how much longer MSR will continue to manufacture the replacement ceramic cores, but as long as they do, I’ll keep buying them. The peace of mind this system offers when you’re miles from the nearest tap is hard to beat.
