The latest version of the Mont Blanc Pro is built around the Essential AC sole platform making this boot lightweight, durable, precise and ready for all you can throw at it.
The AC sole Platform is usually more commonly found in the Phantom 8000 and was developed by Ueli Steck (RIP). The last is lightweight, cushioned but also extremely burly and durable. The TPU insert at the toe gives a symbiotic connection to the latest automatic crampons.
The boot has been revamped, rebooted and remastered again for 2019. The upper is a hardy 3mm Perwanger leather backed up with a GORE-TEX® (Insulated Comfort Footwear) for cold weather use. The new ankle cuff design has an Exo-Ys TPU structure injected directly into the material, creating a really lightweight but supportive cradle around the ankle.
The revised softshell gaiter is even easier to get into helping protect against snow and spindrift. The combination of PU Tek and rubber rand give the optimum blend of weight saving and reinforced protection, making the Mont Blanc Pro one of the lightest boots in its class. The principal aim of the Mont Blanc Pro is to provide a perfect blend of cutting edge technology and last design with the robust longevity you'd expect from a Scarpa mountaineering boot.
Based around the exceptional NAG last - co-developed by Ueli Steck to provide exceptional comfort for technical use with a strong emphasis on focusing the climbing power over the toe/front of the boot creating our most precise, technical mountain fit ever.
The Scarpa Mont Blanc Pro GTX is an exceptional mountain boot for those looking for both lightness and durability.

Boots are good, fit my crampons well, haven’t really needed breaking in. Size up 1 was good advice. Package (shoe box) was well travelled and tatty, which isn’t the best as the returns policy says I can’t return if it’s damaged. Other items had been stuffed inside with boots. I get it as it’s part of the green bit to reduce packaging so this I can live with. From the looks of the boots I’m not the first person to try them on, and subsequently there was a compression mark (dent) on the rand of the left boot. Either from storage or transit after incorrect packing in the box. Thought about returning, but needed them for a trip so chose to accept it. Probably shouldn’t have on such an expensive item. Time will tell if the mark becomes a failure point. Overall though the boots are good.
Used the same rented model for mountaineering and climbing in -15*C, was very warm, now time to get my own one. No problems, excellent boots. Excellent fit with Black Diamond Sabretooth Pro crampoons
Excellent boots. Bought these for a week mountaineering in the summer around Zermatt and found them to be perfectly suited. Great for climbing with and without crampons and comfortable enough for any walk in. Never felt cold once in them and I expect they will also be perfect for Scottish Winter conditions.

I would recommend taking at least a half size up on these. But the fit is great. I have quite slim/narrow feet, and I don't find that my feet are moving about inside, or having to wear extra thick socks which can make it even more uncomfortable. Haven't had chance to wear them in the cold yet, but I can tell already that these are going to do the job. Overall quality of the boot is great.
