Serbia Rock Climbing Guidebook

This is a comprehensive guidebook describing sport climbing in Serbia. Serbia is a country of diverse mountainous karst landscapes, deep gorges, and remote valleys, with crags tucked away in quiet corners of the Balkan, Carpathian, and Dinaric mountains. These limestone crags offer solitude, adventure, and a fresh perspective for climbers looking to explore new rock.

The guidebook covers 38 separate crags across Serbia, describing 2,200 routes. This includes single-pitch sport routes, multi-pitch routes, and bouldering areas. Some of the major crags featured are Jelašnička Klisura, Grdoba, and Soko Grad. The climbing spans a wide range of grades, and all routes are shown on colour photo topos.

For each crag there is a location map, approach information, and GPS coordinates for both the parking areas and the crag itself. There is also a description of the character and style of climbing, along with a chart showing the grade spread and total number of routes. Symbols are used to indicate the orientation of the climbing area, altitude of the crag, approach time, maximum route length, quality of protection, steepness of the rock, and the best time of year to climb. A table showing the grade distribution for each crag is also included.

Published in May 2025, this guidebook features English and Serbian text throughout. At the beginning of the guidebook there is extensive information on travel, transport, accommodation, food and drink, money matters, as well as health and safety tips.
