Rope protectors are designed to save wear and tear on both the climbing rope and the edge of the rock. By using a rope protector you can help protect the rope sheath against abrasion on rough surfaces and edges,whilst belaying, top roping or abseiling over an edge. A rope may wear extremely rapidly over an abrasive edge, so the protector increases safety and prolongs the life of your climbing rope.
