Camping Down Quilts

Camping Down Quilts are an alternative to sleeping bags. They are generally lighter and have less volume than a sleeping bag as there is no underside to them.

When using a camping down quilt, you lie straight on your camping mat. In use they are less restrictive than a sleeping bag and most will have some form of attachment to your sleeping mat, which will cut out drafts but still leave you with some wriggle room. The down insulation on the underside of a sleeping bag actually has a reduced benefit as it compresses in use, so you may as well have the unrestricted nights sleep that you are used to at home!
