The Sea to Summit Ember Down Quilt -1°c provides a lightweight and compact choice for bikepackers, ultralight hikers, and travelers. Featuring premium 850+ loft Ultra-Dry Down and lightweight materials, this expertly crafted quilt eliminates the added weight of a sleeping bag zipper and the restrictive shape of traditional sleeping bags.
Embers also add multi-season functionality: the QuiltLock system allows an Ember to be attached to any hooded Sea to Summit sleeping bag to boost thermal performance in colder weather.
The Ember Series takes the simplicity of the quilt concept a step further - snap-on attachment straps keep your quilt located on your sleeping mat, while the drawcord base of the 7°C and -1°C gives the Ember a 'shape-shifter' function: wider at the base for more freedom of movement when it's warm, snugged down when it's cooler.
“I’ve been using this quilt for nearly a year now, and it has been fantastic—except on the coldest nights (below -1°C). On those nights, I pair it with a second synthetic quilt on top, which has two benefits, extra warmth and moisture management as the dew point shifts from the outer fabric of the down quilt to the outer layer of the synthetic quilt, keeping the down quilt warmer and drier.
I’ve used the quilt in tents, bivvy bags, and hammocks without any issues. It also works wonderfully as a blanket when sitting around camp and chatting into the night. It’s an incredibly versatile product.
The quilt’s fabrics are light yet durable—I’m not afraid to use and abuse it. The cords, press studs, and stitching are well-crafted, with extra reinforcement where needed.
The stuff sack is oval-shaped, which packs more efficiently in my rucksack. It’s a small but welcome deviation from the usual design and something I’ve come to appreciate.
My previous quilt started my love for this style of sleep system and holds a fond place in my heart, but this one is far warmer, lighter, and more frequently used. I’m definitely becoming a quilt convert!" - Nick
