Evolv Kronos

Size: UK 6.5

Building on the success its predecessor, the latest version of the super popular Evolv Kronos is still very comfortable whilst retaining a technical edge. As with the original Kronos, this shoe fits a wide range of foot shapes, and is ideal for those looking for a shoe to climb indoors or out.

Evolv Size Suggestion:

Max Performance: use your street shoe size for an ultra-snug fit.

Performance Fit: add a ½ size to your street shoe for a snug fit that is still comfortable to wear for a full session.

Comfort Fit:add 1 to 1.5 sizes to your street shoe.

Anatomically engineered components and design provide the Kronos with a comfortable fit, but one that does not sacrifice performance. This shoe uses a single hook and loop strap plus adjustable finish-pull strap closure for convenience and a customisable fit for the modern climber, making it one of the best all around technical shoes available.

Great Service

Shoes were too small for my feet, return was simple and refund went without a hitch.

Sizing issues

I wanted a “use all day” pair of boots.... which I now have. However, I could have gone a half size down as they’ve definitely stretched a bit. I’d recommend half size down from shoe size for comfort but technical feel.

Evolv Kronos

Covid and an average Brit summer have meant few outings for this new pair. So far, however: they seem solidly made, suitably sticky, and to offer a good balance between edging and smearing. Their general shape is ‘big toe oriented’ and this will suit some foot types but not all. The design idea of the Kronos –the Holy Grail of being tolerably comfortable but technically proficient– is a sensible, grown-up one, and so far I think Evolv have succeeded. This type of shoe is obviously a compromise, but a wise one for the vast majority of climbers. I’ve given 4 stars on the basis of first impressions and because they’ve not yet had much mileage.
