The Deuter Gravity Expedition 45+ is the pack for experienced mountaineers who value a comfortable, secure fit and need a durable companion for extended alpine adventures.

The years of experience and extreme demands of Deuter's expedition professionals Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, Dominik Müller and Kazuya Hiraide were the basis for the minimalist, highly functional Gravity Expedition. The lightweight pack can be slimmed down even further by removing the Delrin® U-frame or backpack lid if needed and the Light back system is also stripped down to the essentials while allowing you to carry heavy loads comfortably. The extra-light hip fins are equipped with gear loop, Ice Clipper loop and zippered pocket to give you easy access to anything you might need whilst on the move in technical alpine terrain.

When it comes to carrying kit, the Gravity Expedition 45+ offers copious amounts of space in its 45 litre main compartment for an action packed day or a multi-day trip in the mountains. But this isn't where the it's capacity ends. The pack comes with a removable lid that secures over the top of the bag. This lid comes with its own large zippered pocket for essentials and additional kit. Inside, there's an elasticated compartment to separate off wet clothes and hold a 3L hydration pack. Crucially, as much of this additional storage can be removed, the Gravity Expedition can be used as a slimmed down, cragging pack or a much larger pack that could be used over a series of big days camping out in the mountains.

The Lite carrying system is reduced to the essentials and designed for light to medium loads. Carrying comfort is not sacrificed, thanks to the lightweight and comfortable back padding with ventilated 3D mesh cover. A secure fit offers the effort-saving and close to the body fit, by the snug and lightweight hip fins. Perfect for an active day on the mountain.

The main material is sustainably bluesign® certified. This product is free from PFAS which have water, dirt and grease repellent properties but they are persistent chemicals and harmful to people, animals, and the environment. Instead, deuter uses durable water-repellent finishes (DWR) that are environmentally sound and harmless to human and animal health, and free from these ‘forever chemicals’.

Carrying comfort and packing conveniences aside, the Gravity Expedition is perfectly equipped for every adventure in the mountains and comes packed with all of the necessary attachment points for every climbing, hiking or alpine adventure. Fully loaded with attachment points for ice axes, docking points on the front of the pack for a helmet carrier and a stowable strap over the top of the pack for a rope, the Gravity Expedition can do it all. Featuring compression straps down the side of the pack, it can carry camping mats and trekking poles with ease too, making this the perfect pack to climb, hike and camp all in one!
