The Edelweiss Thruster 9.8mm x 40m is a tough, uncompromising climbing rope at a great price. It is perfect for indoor climbing or outdoor cragging.
The Thruster handles remarkably well for its budget price point. This is complimented by excellent durability and longevity, as well as solid performance stats...

Ok as an indoor wall rope. Feels a bit thinner than other 9.8 ropes I've had but handles well
This is my second Edelweiss rope, previous one being 10mm but I have the same complaints with this as the last one.
The good: It looks damn fine, the blue gets a lot of favourable comments and it seems to be pretty hard wearing (similar feel and construction to my previous Edelweiss rope which stood up to a year of heavy climbing indoors and out)
The bad: The main complaint is the rope started showing kinks and loops incredibly quickly despite having been unpacked and flaked out correctly, I had the same issue with the previous Edelweiss rope. Other than that my only complaint is a pretty abrasive feel which also means it seems to stick in a Grigri a bit more than my smoother Beal ropes. Obviously no issue with the ATC but in terms of feel when you're pumped and pulling the rope up over your hand it's not the most comfortable. The trade-off here is likely the robustness and longevity but hard to tell.
Excellent value rope bought for indoor wall use. Handles well & appears to be hard wearing.
Used and abused this rope very regularly in outdoor sport climbing sessions. Handles very well and holds up better than any other budget ropes of this diameter I have used to date.
Used a couple of times on the wall and handling well,
