The Beal Stinger Unicore Dry Cover 9.4mm is a single climbing rope designed for sport climbers operating at a solid or high level.

This is a rope that is preferred for very hard routes requiring minimalist weight and enhanced handling. The Beal Stinger holds an incredible number of falls for its weight and is so smooth running that it results in an appreciable increase in energy when clipping. 

NB: Like the Joker this rope requires modified belaying technique. It also has lower abrasion resistance than ropes of greater diameter, making it a true specialist.

DryCover
Every filament in the sheath of Beal DryCover ropes is treated with a water repellent chemical before the rope is manufactured. This chemical covering is polymerised at high temperature to prolong the life of the dry treatment, thus adding to the durability of the rope. On a Beal DryCover rope, the core is not treated.

Unicore
The UNICORE process bonds the sheath of the rope to the core. This prevents sheath slippage, but also helps to keep the structural integrity of the rope if it is cut or damaged.
