La Sportiva Akasha II

Colour: Carbon/Flame
Carbon/Flame
Black/Yellow
Size: EU 41

The La Sportiva Akasha II is the technical redesign of the popular Akasha running shoe - dedicated to endurance competitions, and prolonged use during training.

Perfect for long-distance routes, UltraMarathons, Ultra-Trails and just pounding out the miles during your training, the Cushion Platform Ortholite® footbed provides maximum comfort thanks for the anti-compression technology, while the large internal volume of the shoe avoids compression points during use. Eco-friendly and washable, the footbed also facilitates the wicking of sweat thus keeping the foot dry.

The uppers are made from soft and breathable air mesh, with ProTechTion™ on the toe and PU leather on the rear of the heel to protect the foot whilst still allowing it to move dynamically and without constriction. Sole wise, La Sportiva have used FriXion® Red dual-compound rubber - the perfect mix of shock absorption, grip and long-lasting wear, while the Trail Rocker® promotes natural external heel to toe internal movement of the foot.

All in all - the Akasha II encompasses everything a long-distance runner would need - comfortable, durable and versatile across all terrain.

Great Shoes, Great Price Great Service

Love La Sportiva shoes for ultra trail running but they are difficult to get in NZ thanks to COVID's impact on global supply chains. Found these bad boys at Rock Run for a good price and they arrived in NZ in less than a week. Awesome! Will be a long term customer for sure.

These are another legacy product from La Sportiva. They along with the Mythos, TC Pro, and the Nepal Mtn boots simply define the category. For single track mountain trail running I’ve not found a better shoe. I will continue to buy them as long as they are available. It is a comfortable stable shoe. The midsole density is dense enough to help with trail feedback when you misstep on a down hill allowing you to correct your foot placement. A mega cushion shoe hampers this in my experience. The toe bumper is perfect. I wore Ultra Raptors and the toe bumper blistered my feet on a backpack trip. No blisters with these as it doesn’t lay over onto the top of my toes. Well padded tongue. They just work. No need for gimmicks. I’m surprised La Sportiva no longer imports them to North American markets. For mountain running for my needs there simply is no better shoe.
