The La Sportiva TX4 is the leather approach shoe part of the Traverse X approach series; designed for technical approach, via ferrata and light hiking. Lightweight, comfortable and with a look derived from the climbing range, the TX4 is the ideal choice for mountaineers and mountain enthusiasts.

The TX4 is a sturdy built to last shoe, thanks to the STB Control System, which provides structure and torsion stability. The hard wearing leather uppers have a clean design and are highly abrasion resistance due to the PU TechLite all-around rand. Finally a Vibram MegaGrip sole, with climbing zone at the toe and Impact Brake System at the rear, is designed for everything from rocky scrambles and easy climbs to muddy approaches.

Perfect for prolonged use by mountain guides and all those who work in the crags and mountains. Every detail has been covered, to guarantee grip, comfort and protection during approach routes.

The best approach shoe on the market!

Love this design, bought my first pair 3 years ago and have lived in them! Bought the new design La Sportiva have released as these are no longer available, they are shockingly bad, narrow, over padded and generally just a rubbish fashion show, the designer needs to be boiled alive as they obviously have never stepped out of an office into 'nature' at any point in there lives! Sorry for the digression, back to these shoes, they are absolutely gold dust, the best on the market ever, so pleased to find them on this site still available, fantastic service too, love them to bits!!

Top product and top service

Well firstly regarding the service, first class. Accidentally ordered wrong size but replacement was sent out immediately and brilliant communication Regarding the shoes, simply a brilliant pair of shoes. Within 7 hours of the box arriving I’d done 20 miles and no blisters or soreness. Just arrived in Canadian rockies and cant wait to get them on and hit the trails. Worth noting these come up slightly small so go for a size larger. I’m a 10 in everything usually, found the 44 too small, the 45 perfect.

Comfortable from the beggining

I have wide feet and these shoes fitted me well from the start. I've yet to put them to the test at a crag but the high 'plimsole line' looks like good design. The cord reinforcements around the laces eyelets is a good detail too.
