The Moon Warrior has been reengineered many times over its long life span but has constantly remained one of the most popular crash pads on the market. From the first incarnation right through to this latest version, the Warrior has been at the forefront of pad innovation; from the reverse fold design (meaning the dirty side is away from your back in carry mode) to the triple function strap cover, this pad has always set trends rather than following them.

A classic 'standard' sized pad the Warrior uses the highest quality closed-cell and open-cell foams bonded together into a single unit. This is encased in an ultra hardwearing ballistic nylon fabric cover, itself adorned with four closure straps each incorporating a lightweight aluminium buckle. The carry harness is comfortable and well fitting, featuring ventilate padded shoulder straps and a belt. All Moon pads feature the aforementioned “reverse fold” system, folding taco style to provide a surface with no creases and with the landing surface folding to the outside. In this “reverse fold,” the up side with the firm foam also has the carry straps. When you shoulder your MOON pad after using it over muddy ground, the lower (dirty) surface of the pad folds in, saving your clothes and your car seats from that mud you’ve been throwing it in all day long. On the landing surface a clever flap covers the shoulder straps so you won’t trip on them, but it also keeps the carry area free of dirt, even if the pad is flipped over. Neatly, the same flap turns back down and around, exposing the straps while wrapping the lower end of the pad to secure your gear in carry mode.

This is a well designed

This is a well designed pad though for stuffing with kit for a foreign trip I backed up the fastenings with compression straps as the webbing looked a little narrow and the stitching seemd stressed. It's decent to land on, not too heavy and has some nice touches like corner reinforcements and non-slip sections. Very happy with it. I hope the foam lasts.

awesome pad. we have just

awesome pad. we have just come back from its first outing to stanage and burbage south. when its being carried there is loads of space inside it to cram your shoes etc. The pad itself feels durable and I’m sure it will do us for a good few years. I took a few hard landings on it from a fair way up and it was fine. much prefer the taco design to a hinged pad. the only downside is its volume… it takes up a lot of space in the car!
