Petzl Shunt

3   |

The Petzl Shunt is an easy to install rope clamp that you use below a belay device to back up an abseil.

Designed to replace friction knots such as the Prusik, the Shunt provides an additional safety system when descending by backing up the belay device. Positioned below the device, the Shunt locks onto the rope as soon as you release it and follows your descent when you press on it. It works on single and double ropes, and it can also be used to ascend giving you more bang for your buck!

    These only work with slings

These only work with slings as they are too small for ropes. I tried the L size with a lanyard and couldn't get it in. I suspect even the XL would be too small for a rope.

The item is ok but you didn't have as many in stock as your website said and I don't know whether you charged for the number I ordered or the number you sent

    professional useage

Hi, I've used these on a professional basis, they are ok for that but only really as a back up, I certainly would not use these for solo climbing. As a hauling device and also as a back up, they are fantastic but not for soloing, take a partner instead!
